My apologies that I’ve been a bit off the grid as of late. It seems that traveling, squeezing in as much time as possible with family and friends, going to bed late, and waking up early does not leave much time for the internet. But we’re back in Oregon now, so I’ll try to catch up on all the fun that happened over the past week and a half.

After a week in San Diego with Eric’s parents, we headed to the wonderful land of southern accents and BBQ to celebrate a late Christmas with my family in Tennessee. I’m thrilled to report that it snowed on the day we celebrated Christmas and I got to squeeze in my first snowy run of the winter.

During our very brief visit, we dined on Red Top BBQ, played a lot of board games, and just enjoyed some good old fashioned family time. I didn’t realize how much I missed my family until we landed in Tennessee. And I didn’t realize how tall the two additions to the family were until I saw this photo.

After a few days in Clarksville, we all drove north to Louisville, Kentucky for my Papaw’s 81st birthday celebration and our annual New Year’s Eve Eve (yes, two “eves” are correct) party with friends, but more on that fiesta later!
